That is a great catch about the week following Christmas. While the content specific to that weekend hasn't been communicated yet, we know that it will be a great stand alone message to follow a big weekend like Christmas.
What we will do to prepare regardless of content will be to avoid the let down that can come for returning guests. Ways we will do this are:
1. Full band, full worship set. We fight the temptation for the (sometimes expected) acoustic Sunday to give the band a break. When someone returns and hopefully brings a friend, they will experience a typical Sunday.
2. Full kids ministry. We fight the temptation to scale down the week after Christmas. While we want our leaders to hit the new year hard, we also know that there are kids (and parents and pastors!) counting on a great kids ministry experience.
3. In short, we never want to rob someone of their first Sunday at our church, even if it happens after the exhausting season of Christmas prep and execution. Like any Sunday, we won't do anything that gets in the way of preparing people to hear the Truth of God's word for their life.
What is everyone else doing to prep for your last chance to reach people in 2017?
