Our #churchonline team here at Life.Church had their first ever Facebook Live service last night. Here are some details from our social media director about how we did it.
From the technical side, we used OBS which is free software that lets you livestream. The worship and most of the videos were all repurposed from what we are using on Church Online.
Our Church Online pastor recorded greetings and announcements specifically for Facebook Live. The message was recorded live from our first service the night before. It was all arranged in one video file and streamed from OBS to Facebook Live.
The key was a live Host Team and strategic questions and responses that we planned out in advance. Our Host Team was constantly interacting with the audience and asking questions during the broadcast. They were also praying for all requests live.
We also saw a number of people accept Jesus at the end of the broadcast! Our team's goal was to followup with every single person who left a comment when the broadcast was over. So they messaged everyone through Facebook with a prewritten note. We also had messages planned if those people wrote us back, and also special messages for those who accepted Jesus.
Have you tried broadcasting via Facebook Live? If so, we'd love to hear your comments and thoughts, too!
