We’ll spend three weeks helping our students to talk about their fears. We’ll remind our students that God wants us to give our cares and worries to Him by studying Psalm 55:22 all three weeks.
Remember, the students you’re working with are at an unusual time in their lives: adolescence. They’re transitioning from little children to teens. Some of them may still worry about monsters under their beds. Some are still afraid of thunder. Some are worried about their family’s finances. Some are already worried about whether anyone will ever date them, and if they’ll make it into a good college. Do whatever you can to encourage students to talk. Let them know it’s safe to discuss their fears, even if they think their fears are silly. Encourage your group to open up and support one another in releasing fear to God.
· Make sure all your students know about the Bible App and how to do Plans With Friends. The Bible Plan for the three weeks of Scary Stuff is called How to Stop Worrying. Students can ask their parents to let them use their Bible App if they don’t have phones themselves, and they can also complete it online at www.bible.com.
