If we place our identity in anyone or anything other than Christ, we’ll be disappointed. In a world where there are so many places to seek approval, we’re learning to live from the approval of Christ. Join us at Switch as we tackle our identity issues.
Description and Notes
This month, we’re talking about identity. In week one, we’ll bring a powerful message about suicide prevention. Students have gotten a lot of mixed messages about suicide from the media, and we’re aiming to give them a biblical perspective as well as give them three reasons they can have hope in Christ. Please prepare your parents and leaders for this heavy subject. Week two is all about approval. We’re hosting a conversation about why it’s so easy to find approval in the wrong places and how we can start finding our approval in Christ. Finally, in the last week of September, we’re explaining the gospel in a fresh way. Encourage your students to bring their friends for this special, One Night of Switch.
For week one, there will be a finds.life.church post, You Can Overcome Suicidal Thoughts. You can share this with your students, leaders, and parents to reinforce the message. That post will be live the Thursday after Switch. Also, Don’t Lose Hope is all about suicide prevention. In your huddles for week two, please address non-physical incident reports and remind your leaders that if they feel a student is a danger to themselves or others, they need to report it.
Week three is a great message to set up Switch. Be sure to hype inviting, and make sure your students know to bring their friends to One Night. There will be bonus resources available for that night, so please use them.
The YouVersion Bible Plan associated with this series is called Approved. Make sure to promote that to students.
