This week, we are throwing a party with a purpose we call The Bash. In addition to being a fun and energy-packed night, this is also a night of hope for those who are struggling and a call to action for those who want to make a difference by partnering with Stay Here, a mental health and suicide prevention organization.
Note that some week 1 resources live in The Bash series here.
MAIN IDEA: Jesus is calling us to become who He is and do what He does.
TEACHING TEXT: Matthew 5:14-16 NIV
WHAT DO WE WANT STUDENTS TO KNOW? There is hope for you. And you can bring hope to others. Suicide sucks. But God is good. And He is inviting you to play a part in putting an end to suicide in your generation.
WHAT DO WE WANT STUDENTS TO FEEL? Seen if they are personally struggling. Confident that things can get better. Hopeful that they can make a difference in the lives of others.
WHAT DO WE WANT STUDENTS TO DO? 1. Everyone: get trained and invite others to join you in being a part of the solution. 2. For some: become Student Ambassadors. 3. For others: open up and ask for help.
