SERIES OVERVIEW: Luke opens the book of Acts by saying: “In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach …” In verse one, Luke is cluing us in on everything that’s about to happen. Jesus’ earthly ministry was the beginning of His work in the world. Meaning, even though Jesus has ascended into heaven, He’s still working. But, instead of acting and teaching in person, like He did in the gospels, now Jesus is acting and teaching by His Spirit through His Church. Through us. That’s right—the mission of Jesus is still going on and we have a part to play! He wants everyone everywhere to know that He’s putting the world back together. He’s launched the project of New Creation. The Kingdom of Heaven is coming to earth, and everyone is invited in!

MAIN IDEA: God’s Kingdom is coming on earth as it is in heaven, everyone is invited in, and you have a part to play.
