For Tauren Wells, the January 2024 launch of Church of Whitestone, serving North Austin’s Williamson County, is the divinely orchestrated fulfillment of a vision that began with a life-changing moment in 2015. God gave Tauren the vision for a different kind of church, inspired by Revelation 2:17. That passage speaks of God intimately holding a white stone and giving it to those who overcome. Written on the stone is “a new name that no one knows except the one who receives it.”

Tauren and his wife Lorna colead Church of Whitestone and are steadfast in their commitment to taking people beyond the surface of their lives and helping them discover who God has created them to be. Lauren shares her God-given musical and detail-oriented gifting, serving as a worship pastor and leading ministries. Tauren, in addition to his role as pastor, has developed a successful career as an eight-time Dove Award–winning, 11-time Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling recording artist and performer.

Tauren and Lorna are devoted parents to four amazing sons, Kanaan, Lawson, Navy, and Banner, who are equally excited about the vision and impact of Church of Whitestone. Together, the Wells’ intent is to establish a church family that empowers people in Austin and around the world to discover their God-authored identity through wholehearted relationship with God.
